Public monument, Mexico City

The ‘Monumento Magno al Ejército Mexicano’ was built to commemorate the centenary of the Mexican Army and was inaugurated in February 2015. The metal facade for this unconventional, challenging structure was designed by Sistemas de Fachadas, a team of architects and engineers who design ventilated facades across the Americas.

The construction contractor was faced with a particular challenge on this project: a suitable underlay membrane had to be found that could withstand the high temperatures present in summertime behind a metal facade. SOLITEX MENTO 3000 connect from pro clima now serves as a second waterproof layer around this structure. This underlay ensures long-term protection due to the excellent ageing-resistance and heat-resistance of its TEEE functional membrane.

Membranes that can be walked on: The functional membrane of the SOLITEX MENTO 3000 connect roofing underlay membrane is reliably protected between two robust, particularly tear-resistant protective and covering fleeces made of polypropylene – which is ideal given the high loads that occur when installing or walking over the membranes.

The following pro clima products were used in this project:
