Installation steps: 1. Before the window is installed
1. CONTEGA SOLIDO IQ-D is to be applied before the window is installed
The frame is laid out flat.
2. Remove the release film strip
Remove the release film strip on the fleece side.
3. Stick to the side of the frame
Position the tape on the side of the frame flush with the frame edge and then stick in place. Stick tapes to the inside and outside of the windows.
NOTE: Ensure that the overlap is water-resistant when sticking to the exterior!
4. Preparation of corners
To ensure that the tape can be simply and securely stuck to the window reveal later on, create corner folds as shown here and stick CONTEGA SOLIDO IQ-D all around the window.
The length of the overlap must be around 1.5 times the width of the gap in order to avoid unnecessary folds.
5. Cut and stick in place
When finished, cut the tape, allowing approx. 5 cm (2") of an overlap.
Stick the ends to each other on the frame.
6. Install the window and insulate the joint
Fold in the CONTEGA SOLIDO IQ-D tape.
Depending on requirements, stick the EXTOSEAL ENCORS sub-sill flashing tape to the wall below the window and to the reveal.
Install the window properly. Use a suitable fastening system.
Fill in the joint with a suitable approved insulation material, leaving no cavities.
7. Stick onto the reveal and rub into place
Remove the release film strip and stick the tape all around the window.
8. Stick the corners
At the corners of the window, stick the corner folds to the reveal in a manner that is airtight (interior) or resistant to driving rain and watertight (exterior).
9. Rub to secure the adhesive bond
Rub the tape all around the window using the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool to secure the adhesive bond.
10. You’re finished!
The joint – which is either airtight or resistant to driving rain, as applicable – is now complete, and the tape can be plastered over.
