Installation steps: 2. Window already installed
1. The window is already installed
CONTEGA SOLIDO IQ is to be applied subsequently to an already mounted window.
NOTE: Ensure that the overlap is waterproof when applying tape on the exterior!
2. Cut tape to length
Add approx. 6-8 cm (2 3/8" - 3 1/8") to the length of each side of the frame and cut this length of CONTEGA SOLIDO IQ.
3. Remove the first release film strip
Remove approx. 5-10 cm (2" - 4") of the narrow release film strip.
4. Stick to the frame
Start applying the tape in the corner area. First position approx. 2 cm (3/4") of the tape on the vertical part of the frame and stick the adhesive strip to the frame. Guide the tape around the frame corner and stick the tape to the horizontal part of the frame. Gradually remove the release film while doing so.
5. Stick to the reveal
Gradually remove the second (wide) release film strip. Start sticking to the reveal in the corner area. Stick the excess tape to the adjacent reveal side. Stick the tape as far as the next corner area. Stick the excess tape to the adjacent reveal side.
6. Rub to secure the adhesive bond
Rub the tape firmly into place on the frame and reveal using the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool.
Tip: The width of the application tool can be adapted as needed.
7. Stick the corners
Apply the tape with an overlap of at least 2 cm (3/4") in the corner areas. Ensure that there is uninterrupted sealing at the window and at the masonry.
8. Bottom window joint
Cut the PRESSFIX tool as required to facilitate even pressing, and then rub the tape firmly into place on the frame.
9. You’re finished!
The joint – which is either airtight or resistant to driving rain, as applicable – is now complete, and the tape can be plastered over.
Exterior: Add EXTOSEAL ENCORS sub-sill flashing depending on the construction situation.
